Vision

To be the most innovative and inclusive science institution in Africa.

Mission

To read, discover and share an integrated scientific knowledge to a large section of our society in Africa and the world over.

Outreach

Get Your Hands Dirty. Learning about beneficial agricultural practices in a classroom is all well and good, but taking this knowledge into the field and getting a taste of the profession will bring your expertise to a whole new level. Whether working in the field or behind-the-scenes, the hands on experience you will get look great to future employers, too.

Therefore, at African Institute we apply our expertise to meet the needs of our farmers, our nation, and the world. We partner with households and families across the region to engage our students and staff in addressing society's most pressing issues. It’s mandatory for a second year student at African Institute to find a family around to host them for a minimum period of three months as they complete their last semester. Together with this family, they will choose one or two agricultural enterprises where this student will experiment his/her agricultural knowledge under the guidance of their institution’s lecturers. As an Institution, the most important part of our role is to find them a safe and welcoming family who will work well with them. A family that can partner with our student can be an individual, a couple, or a household, who opens their home to our student to undertake this agricultural project with them. These families are usually genuinely interested in offering a home or a farm land for our students and welcome them as part of the family. A student can continues to stay with the host family either for a long period of time or just for short period of the project lifespan.
