
TORACH Peter Lutada
(Principal)
Mr. Torach Peter Lutada is currently the Principal of African Institute of Applied Science. A graduate in Quantitative economics, with a post graduate certificate in organizing farmers as partner in agri-business from Wageningen University-Netherlands and a Master graduate in Agriculture and Development from the University of Reading-United Kingdom. Mr. Peter previously served as the M&E officer with straight Talk Foundation from 2007 to 2016. While in the UK, he worked with different companies like Syngenta, Amazon, and Microsoft before joining Work Bridge as a Technical Director in charge of strategies. He also founded a company called VeTech Farm Ltd dealing in production and supply of vegetable crops across northern Uganda.
As an agricultural entrepreneur and researcher, Mr. Torach has been able to write so many projects that have gone on to win some prestigious awards as well as grants that have transformed the life of so many people. Some of his most notable projects include ‘Agroforestry for sustainable land use and economic empowerment’ that won International SEED award in 2013, ‘Insect Segment Farm’ that won Tony Elemelu Entrepreneurship award in 2016, ‘Hidden Wealth in Waste straws’ funded by European Union through International Labour Organization-ILO 2015. Now he is working on another project called “Agriculture is responsible for acute poverty in northern Uganda-how can we stop that?”
